Staff is unfriendly, generally cold reception towards guests. Been to Istanbul dozens of times and tried this hotel for the first time.but will be going back to previous hotel in the same area. Better service and value

The hotel was very clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, very close to the metro and Taksim Square, which made getting around easy and convenient.

Location is great, next to Taksim square but a quiet part. Rooms are very clean, and new. Beds are very comfortable and room size was good for 2 people. Staff were amazing, responsive and kind.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and the location couldn’t have been more perfect — close to everything we needed.A special thank-you goes to Turkan and Ayham, who assisted us during check-in. They were incredibly helpful, warm, and professional. Truly the best! Their hospitality made our arrival smooth and set the tone for the rest of our stay.We were also pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, which gave us a spacious and beautifully arranged room. The view was stunning.Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul and would like to stay in Taksim.

The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Taksim Square. It is quiet, cozy, and offers comfortable modern rooms. I would like to express my special thanks to the professional reception staff, Emir and Ali, who were always ready to provide helpful information and assistance. Location was good and the staff were often pleasant, although not very helpful.

We stayed at Lokalist Istanbul from for 10 nights, and it was a nightmare. This hotel is a scam: advertised as 5 stars with “soundproof rooms” for maximum comfort, but in reality, it’s a noisy boutique hotel with none of that. There is zero soundproofing in any of the rooms. We tried a city view room on the 2nd floor, and a sea view room on the 5th floor, you hear everything in both rooms: doors slamming, toilets flushing, guests talking, showers running, service cleaning. I have multiple videos proving how unbearable it was. Sleep was impossible for 10 nights.When we complained after the first night and asked to cancel, staff admitted the hotel is not 5-star and told us to cancel through Booking.com, but Booking.com is blocked in Turkey, which they knew and never disclosed, leaving us trapped. We tried to reach them tens of times, they were impossible to contact, through messages, emails, or calls. Instead of the hotel helping, they just moved us upstairs, but the noise was exactly the same.The problems continued: linens were dirty, torn, and stained (I have photos), the door lock was broken, the blackout curtains let in light, there was also a huge gap under the door letting in noise, water turned cold whenever other guests showered, and “streaming services” were a lie because only YouTube is available. Also confirmed by the staff. Booking.com confirmed the hotel was misrepresented and offered me compensation, but the hotel refuses to cooperate. Even worse, management dismissed my documented complaints as “allegations" and that I didn't complain to them on site, when I did, and they said there's nothing they can do. That is not just poor service, it’s dishonest and disrespectful.This hotel ruined our vacation, scammed us out of over €1000, and continues to mislead guests with fake advertising. Avoid at all costs – I will be posting my photos and videos to warn others.

Limited options for breakfast

An authentic Chinese restaurant is literally just right next door. The relaxing green Gezi park its viewing I had from my room ís just across the road. The busy Istiklar pedestrian street is a few mins walk

The Nextpresso machine didn't work

For a truly immersive stay, I would recommend considering this location that offers a wealth of attractions within easy walking distance. Imagine the convenience of leisurely strolls to significant sights! Furthermore, picture yourself enjoying breathtaking views of the mosque and Taksim Square, particularly magical during the golden hours of sunrise and sunset. It would also wonderful to have the simple pleasure of a Nespresso coffee right in your room. And with the amazing AKM culture center just moments away, you'd have unparalleled access to local arts and performances, ensuring a pretty good and deeply localized experience.

While I highlight preference for a room with a view of Taksim Square, I must point out that this comes with significant noise, particularly in the early mornings and late evenings. Unfortunately, the windows do little to block out this sound.Additionally, I feel it's important to mention that on several occasions, the restaurant's greens were not fresh, and sometimes, the simits (local sesame bagels) served were stale.Also, I would appreciate it if the hotel paid a little more attention to its guests. I was celebrating my birthday in Istanbul, and the experience could have been absolutely wonderful if the hotel had simply checked my passport and left a small note with a little birthday wish.
